These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the TherapyLink website and application at therapylink.ca and app.therapylink.ca(the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
The Service is operated by TherapyLink, based in British Columbia, Canada(“TherapyLink”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
1. What TherapyLink is — and isn't
TherapyLink is a directory and matching service that helps patients find independent mobile therapy practitioners. We are not a clinic, do not provide health care, and do not have an employer-employee relationship with the practitioners listed on the Service.
All clinical decisions and treatment are the responsibility of the independent practitioner and the patient. Bookings, payments, and clinical records are handled by Jane App (janeapp.com) or directly by the practitioner. TherapyLink does not process payments and does not maintain clinical records.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 years of age or older, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to use the Service.
The Service is intended for use in Canada. We make no representation that it is appropriate or available for use outside Canada.
3. Your account
If you create an account, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate, current, and complete information
- Keeping your password confidential
- All activity that occurs under your account
Notify us immediately at support@therapylink.ca of any suspected unauthorized use.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes
- Misrepresent yourself or your credentials, especially if registering as a practitioner
- Send spam, harassing, threatening, or sexually explicit messages via in-app chat
- Attempt to access another user's account
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute content from the Service without our written permission
- Interfere with the operation of the Service
- Use the in-app chat to bypass our booking partner or arrange off-platform transactions for services discovered through TherapyLink
5. Practitioner terms
If you register as a practitioner on the Service:
- You confirm that you hold all licenses, registrations, and insurance required to practice in your jurisdiction
- You are solely responsible for the care you provide and for compliance with your regulatory body
- You will keep your profile accurate, including credentials, services, pricing, and availability
- You agree to communicate with patients only through TherapyLink's in-app chat and through Jane App's standard channels — not by direct call or text to private numbers initiated from a TherapyLink lead
- You authorize TherapyLink to display your professional information (name, photo, credentials, biography, service areas, pricing) on the Service
- You may withdraw your participation at any time by contacting support@therapylink.ca
6. Bookings and payments
Bookings and payments are processed through Jane App or directly with the practitioner, subject to the policies of each. TherapyLink does not charge patients to use the Service. Cancellation, refund, rescheduling, and no-show policies are set by the practitioner or by Jane App, not by us, and we are not responsible for those policies.
7. No medical advice
The Service is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified health professional for any medical concern. Information presented in practitioner profiles is provided by the practitioners themselves; we do not independently verify clinical claims.
In a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. Do not use TherapyLink to communicate medical emergencies.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
We do not warrant the quality, safety, qualifications, or conduct of any practitioner listed on the Service. Your interactions with practitioners are at your own risk.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to CAD $100, or the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim, whichever is greater
- Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; to the extent they do not, the limits apply to the fullest extent permitted
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold TherapyLink and its operators harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of the rights of a third party.
11. Intellectual property
All content on the Service that is not provided by users — including software, design, logos, and trademarks — is owned by TherapyLink or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it without written permission.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these Terms. You may close your account at any time by emailing support@therapylink.ca.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in British Columbia. The courts of British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
